I'm deeply passionate about the things that matter:
love, diversity, and equity
The official line:
I am a Registered Nurse with an extensive background in patient advocacy and program development. I'm fanatical about using a strengths-based approach with individuals, especially when working with marginalized communities and victims of domestic violence and sexual trauma. I'm also a blogger and the author of Supporting Resiliency in Patients: Strategies for Trauma-Sensitive Nursing.
The bottom line:
I've had to rebuild my life from scratch. I went from being a stay-at-home mom, to a single mom, to completing a college degree, to becoming a nurse. Despite all of that, I still consider my greatest accomplishment to be my two daughters. They are my purpose. Every step I take is a decision to create a better world for them and future generations.
Embracing diversity and pursuing equity is how we begin.
I believe LOVE is the only way to do that.
Change begins and ends with each one of us.

Here’s a fascinating premise I learned: as soon as you make a commitment to being your true self – expect to be ejected from situations where you no longer fit. Even when that ejection feels like rejection. Is it possible to reframe your thinking to understand the good behind it all?
